This episode is brought to you by: Lucas Equine Equipment, makers of fine quality stall components and accessories. And, by Tangent Materials, smart fencing for safer farms.

Horses can have a powerful impact on human beings. If you love horses, you know this is true. In fact, many of us believe our horses to be valid therapy for our mental health. But horses are individuals, with unique personalities. How we combine with those personalities shapes our relationship with them-whether as pets, performance horses, or therapy partners. In this episode, Helena is joined by Ph.D. Candidate, Ellen Rankins, from Rutgers Equine Center. The discussion is about equine personalities, temperament, and Ellen’s current research on how Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies affect both humans and horses – specifically combat veterans with PTSD. Listen in!
